Having a creative mindset

Today it is more important than ever to develop our creativity. Because of the pandemic we had to adjust. Everything changed and by staying home we had more time to reflect on our lives. Today we are looking for new ways of working, living…

Tapping into our creativity, developing our creative mindset can help us transform all areas of our life. It helps us change our perspective, opens our mind to unlimited possibilities, gives us the ability to make our ideas and dreams manifest into the world, see past obstacles and find more creative, “out of the box” solutions.

“if you can’t find a way, create one”

Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes… And having fun! For me that is life, a vast playground where we use our creativity, trying to create a life that is in alignment with who we are, that gives us more happiness and joy, a sense of meaning and purpose and where we can give back. It’s the expression of who we are.

Just look at the kids, they are always creating, finding ways to play and have fun. What about you? When was the last time you had fun, laughed and really enjoyed yourself?

Creativity is a skill we are all born with. But some people still use it and some don’t. You don’t need to be an artist to use it and to create. Look at your life, whatever it looks like, you created it. Your decisions and actions did. You like it? Great! You don’t? Don’t worry you can change it. It is never too late to live your dreams. You need to find your North Star and adjust your sails. Remember when you were a little girl? She is still inside of you. What did she liked to do? What were her dreams? Could you bring some of that back into your life?

A book that really helped me make the changes I needed was “the artist way” by Julia Cameron. I received it when I was burned out and trying to figure out what I wanted, who I was and wanted to be, what  to do with my life. I found many answers by digging, deep, while writing my morning pages (still do) and reconnecting to my creativity and I recovered. Since then I am on my journey of self discovery, creation, living a life that is truly me and gives me more joy, happiness and magic! It is a journey of a lifetime but step by step you learn and grow and have more and more moments of joy, happiness, a sense of purpose,… A life you are happy to wake up to every morning.

Another book iI discovered recently is “creativity calling” by Chase Jarvis. I loved it! He did put in words what I think and feel about creativity and the importance of it. He started as a sport photographer and  he runs a very interesting podcast where he talks about creativity. For him, creativity is about living your dream. It is a natural human function like breathing. But it is a muscle that must be strengthened so you have to practice regularly. And as he says creativity is a true source of abundance, when you use your creativity, you tap into something bigger, powerful inside of you. The goal is to make a masterpiece of your life. To create a life you love. Are you ready for that?

Life is an adventure and we need creativity to make this journey as colourful and joyful as possible.
